Ruben Becerra, CPA is a senior manager in the Tax Department that specializes in federal, state, and local tax services and planning opportunities for middle-market corporations. Ruben is a key member of the firm’s Manufacturing & Distribution practice team where he manages various consulting projects offering value-added recommendations to complex issues. He is graduate of both Siena Heights University and University of Toledo and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Why did you join William Vaughan Company?

I joined William Vaughan Company because of the people and the flexibility the firm offers. I also really appreciate the emphasis the firm places on building real relationships with its clients.

What are you most passionate about in your work?

I really enjoy digging into the details, performing research, and coming up with unique solutions to help our clients be tax efficient.

What has been your most rewarding client experience?

It’s always rewarding seeing our clients succeed and grow, knowing that we’ve been able to help them along the way. Because of the relationships we build, we are just as invested in the success of our clients as they are.

There are a lot of companies that talk about their work-life balance, but few really embody it the way WVC does. As a dad of twins, it’s great to work for a company that allows me the flexibility to spend time with my family and has the trust in their employees to still get the work done.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love spending time with my family. I’m also a huge Michigan fan and follow everything from football to softball. Go Blue!

What’s a fun fact few would know about you?

I really enjoy working out, crazy, I know! I mostly do CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting, but have dabbled in some powerlifting as well.
