As the Mason, you would be constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, and other materials. Your work will be essential in ensuring the durability and aesthetic appeal of various construction projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. As the Concrete Finisher, you will play a crucial role in smoothing and finishing concrete surfaces to complete construction projects from start to finish.   • Assistance with ordering concrete when needed
  • Basic understanding of concrete additives: Understanding the benefits; Do’s and Don’ts
  • Placing Concrete: Signaling truck drivers, moving chutes for concrete placement, electronic buggying
  • Exterior Concrete Finishing: screeding, bull-floating, darby, joint tooling, edge tooling, broom finishing, contraction joint sawcutting.
  • Interior Concrete Finishing: hand screeding, understanding laser screed placement processes, understand concrete pumping process, hand troweling, walk-behind machine troweling
  • Placing forms to the correct line and grade to ensure the required depth and pitch is achieved
  • Monitoring the effect heat, wind and cold have on curing concrete to ensure high-quality results
  • Understanding the affects of cold-weather concrete placement: The Do’s & Don’ts
  • Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, and grouting base plates
  • Polishing surfaces using smoothing materials, abrasive tools and surfacing machines
  • Aligning forms for sidewalks, curbs and gutters, including ADA Ramps
  • Compacting materials using plates tamps
  • Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
  • Supervising and training workers to help shore up the team
  • Items that are a plus:
    • Ability to layout and picture frame edging on sidewalks
    • Decorative Concrete Experience
    • Ability to Operate Ride on Power Trowel
    • Ability to Operate Laser Screed
    • Ability to read plans and think critically with such information in the field
    • Ability to form, brace, place, strip, finish, and rub concrete foundations
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with concrete.
  • Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in various concrete applications, including but not limited to: curbs, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, approaches, concrete pavement, large building slab pours, elevated slab pours, stamped/decorative concrete, and more.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Engages in efficient time management to ensure tasks are prioritized based on importance and urgency.

As the Dry Wall Finisher, you will play a crucial role in sealing joints, repairing cracks, and smoothing imperfections on walls and ceilings to create surfaces that are suitable for final treatment. To be successful as a drywall finisher, you should be able to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining a high quality of work. Ultimately, an excellent drywall finisher will utilize sound techniques to produce high-quality drywall finishes on time. William Vaughan Company, a locally recognized, full-service accounting firm in Maumee, Ohio is currently seeking student interns for the 2026 Busy Season. Our internships are full-time or part-time, entry-level positions. In addition, this is a temporary role with employment beginning at the end of January through mid-April. Paid training is provided at the onset. You will learn directly from experienced staff and senior leadership with specialized experience and technical knowledge across numerous industries. Most importantly, you will gain hands-on experience and better understand how your academic experience translates to the professional environment. All interns are assigned a buddy to guide them through the process and to provide feedback.
