Senior Manager
Mark Sawyer, CPA is a senior manager at William Vaughan Company with more than 12 years of experience helping clients navigate the assurance landscape. Mark’s areas of expertise include the on-site execution and supervision of audit engagements. He has significant nonprofit experience and serves as the in-charge auditor on several complex projects. Mark holds a bachelors degree, as well as a master’s in accounting from Bowling Green State University.
Why did you join William Vaughan Company?
After graduating college I worked for a very small accounting firm and was looking for a larger, but still locally owned firm that would offer me more opportunities.
What are you most passionate about in your work?
I truly enjoy helping my clients grow their businesses by implementing and educating them on audit procedures that result in a positive financial impact.
What has been your most rewarding client experience?
It’s always rewarding to exceed a client’s expectations. By simplifying the audit process and making it painless for them, I take pride in knowing I improved their experience and helped further develop our working relationship.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I really like to spend time with my wife and kids, going for runs, and coaching my son’s flag football team.
What’s a fun fact few would know about you?
Not many people know that I grew up on a grain farm in central Ohio where I started driving a tractor at (probably) too young of an age.
