Why did you join William Vaughan Company?

In my junior year of college, I had a lot of interviews – about 35 of them in 20 days, I recall. The majority of the firms I met with wanted me to start immediately in the tax department, without experiencing any real audit fieldwork or consulting engagements. WVC offered me a choice- the ability to work throughout all areas of the firm, gaining experience and jointly determining where I could add the most value for clients. It was a clear differentiator between firms and was a big reason I joined William Vaughan Company.

What are you most passionate about in your work?

I like knowing that what we do allows families to do what they do best, whether those “families” are blood or business by relation. Being a part of a team that helps businesses and families grow and thrive is what gets me up in the morning.

What has been your most rewarding client experience?

My most rewarding client experience is always seeing someone who built a business – through hard work, ingenuity, and perseverance – transition that business successfully, whatever that means for them. It’s bittersweet at times, but when we’re a piece of a puzzle that helps someone reach a milestone like that, it’s very rewarding.

What makes William Vaughan Company different?
We have a unique blend of history, experience, and youth that we can leverage to serve our clients and our team. This allows us to accept new ideas and opportunities while capitalizing on our history to implement them. It’s our people and culture that make the difference.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I like to spend time with my family, doing whatever activities the kids are interested in, and trying to play a little golf when I can. I’m an entrepreneur to the core, so in any free time I have, I spend it analyzing businesses.

What’s a fun fact few would know about you?

I’m not a big fan of shoes – socks yes, shoes no – most specifically on long drives.
